Buckhorn Lake Resort RV Park - July 4th Weekend

What a great time we had yesterday, celebrating Independence Day.  Starting the day off with “All You Can Eat” Pancakes, to the “RV Resort Style” 4th of July Parade, to the events planned for all of the children, to food and more food, to then enjoying the “booming” light show of fireworks covering the dark skies.  That made for a great day and weekend; but what has made it really awesome thus far, is the families that God has placed in our path.  He has afforded us the opportunity to “build altars” in the lives of those that really couldn’t celebrate the “freedom” that we enjoy.

One altar that we were able to build, looked an awful lot like a “picnic table”, allowing us to share and minister to the needs of a foster family as they raise their 6 children; then to the “well off” couple that shared their struggles with us, even though everything looked great on the outside, the struggles resided within. This altar took on the form of a dinner table, followed by an ice cream social.  Then there was the couple that needed to hear of the love of Jesus, as they struggled through a recent divorce and then remarriage; complicated by the challenges associated with a family member with special needs.  That altar looked an awful lot like “a circle of folding chairs”, as we joined hands and invited the love of Jesus into their lives.  That “altar call” lasted until about 11 o’clock last night, long after the fireworks had concluded, and the crowds had dispersed.

We are grateful to have had the privilege of being part of a new “Dependence” Day in the lives of these families.  To God Be The Glory …

Welcome to the mobile mission of Altar to Altar Ministries, as we travel, and share the “Good News” of Jesus Christ; building altars unto the Lord; one road trip at a time …
